A Closeup of the Front Yard

I have been raking and burning the leaves in the front yard.  The yard is dominated by tall White Pines and Black Oaks.  This year there is a profusion of pine seedlings like the ones in the picture above.  The ground cover was once more grass than anything else but now it is moss, seedlings and teaberry and leaf litter.  The leaf litter I am doing my best to remove.  The teaberry or Gauthieria procumbens is everywhere.
